SAFE SCHOOLS LAGOS (SSLAG) INSURANCE PROJECT

Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), Lagos State Safety Commission, Safe School Alliance, and Lagos State Office of Education Quality Assurance worked on School Safety Insurance Package Cover for schools and educational institutions in Lagos.

DAMAGE TO MOTOR WINDSCREEN AND HEADLAMP INSURANCE PROJECT

This is a collaboration between the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) and Lagos State Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) on Windscreen and Head Lamp Damage Insurance extension cover for Third Party Motor Insurance Policyholders

LAGOS STATE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT – LAGOS STATE VEHICLE INSPECTION SERVICE (VIS)

The Association is in collaboration on a joint project with Lagos State Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) on the enforcement and validation of genuine compulsory motor Third Party insurance made mandatory by extant laws through Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) device of VIS and Nigerian Insurance Industry Database (NIID) Verification Platform of NIA.

MINISTRY OF PHYSICAL PLANNING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT – LAGOS STATE BUILDING CONTROL AGENCY (LASBCA)

There is an ongoing discussion between LASBCA and NIA on the integration of Nigerian Insurance Industry Database (NIID) Verification Platform of NIA to LASBCA digital platform for the enforcement, verification and validation of genuine compulsory insurance for Buildings Under Construction made mandatory by extant laws and regulations.

NIGERIAN SHIPPERS’ COUNCIL CONTAINER INSURANCE PROJECT (PACKAGE POLICY)

Discussion is ongoing between NAICOM, NSC, NIA, Project IT Vendor-BrandOne and all other Stakeholders (including various Associations of Shipping Companies, Shippers/ Importer, Clearing Agents, Track Owners etc.)

  • Further discussions with NIA Actuarial team, Guild of Marine Surveyors, PRAN and Tracking Companies).

NEXIM BANK EXPORT INSURANCE PROJECT

Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), NEXIM Bank and MNK Re Limited (Broker at LLOYD’S), had worked extensively to introduce to the Nigerian market, a Package Cover; NEXIM’s EXPORT CREDIT GUARANTEE and REGULAR COMMERCIAL INSURANCE COVER FOR EXPORTS.

  • On-going discussion on Export Credit Guarantee Insurance and Political risks between NEXIM Bank, NIA, MNK Re Limited (Broker at LLOYD’S), PRAN, NIA Actuarial Team, Guild of Marine Surveyors etc.

NIGERIA PASSENGERS’ INSURANCE PROJECT

Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) and Global Sight Services Limited working with the Nigeria Government, through the Federal Road Safety Corp on Group Personal Accident for all passengers in transit. The Enforcement Agency of Government aimed at reducing the rate of untimely death signed into law an act that made it compulsory for all passengers to be insured while on transit.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF E-THIRD PARTY MOTOR INSURANCE POLICY

Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), Lagos State Ministry of Finance and Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA) are working on the integration of platforms to NIIP for the issuance of E-Third Party Insurance.

MINISTRY OF SPECIAL DUTIES & INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS – LAGOS STATE SAFETY COMMISSION (LSC)

Collaboration between LSC, NIA, NCRIB and Courteville on the Implementation, enforcement and validation of genuine compulsory Occupiers Liability Insurance made mandatory by Law for all public buildings through Nigerian Insurance Industry Database (NIID) Verification Platform – Insurance Act 2003 (Section 65)
