YETUNDE OLUBUNMI ILORI – B.Sc, ACII, FIIN,AMP
Yetunde, the Director General of Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA). Her experiencespanned over 38 years. During which, she earned many “firsts” like first female Director General, first female Deputy Chairman of NIA since its establishment and reputed to be the first female Chairperson of the Life Committee of African Insurance Organization.
From a modest beginning with Actuarial background, she reached the apogee of Insurance profession as MD/CEO of AXA Mansard Insurance Plc. The largest listed insurer on NSE floor by the time she left in 2017 from where she joined the Association.
During her tenure the company grew from one-line business to diverse product and service offerings. It underwent two acquisitions by foreign investors with diverse cultures but remained a “great place to work”, an award won many times, thanks to her leadership acumen. She provided support for female employees like flexible working hours, extended maternity leave period, creche for babies under age 1 within the office space to encourage mother-child bonding, all these enabled the young female workers excel as career women while building successful homes. Their male counterparts also enjoyed paternity leave to be present at crucial moments for their families
An intercontinental trail blazer, winner of several awards/recognitions, comes across as a genial person, respected voice, astute corporate administrator, role model, author,mentor and foremost ambassador of insurance. Represents the industry in inter/intra government policy formulation and negotiations
As DG of NIA, she created a unified purchase platform that made uptake of compulsory insurances starting with 3rd Party Motor, Builders’ and Occupiers’ liability covers possible from any part of the country. This is an offshoot of the flagship unified verification platform that houses the industry database from where the validity of policies can be confirmed by the public especially the law enforcement agencies. The resultant effect of this is enormous income generation for the industry as well as governments at various levels and significant reduction of fake insurances.
The Association under her leadership releases annual publication (Digest) on industry statistical analysis to aid decision-making by many within and outside the country including rating agencies.
Yetunde created structures that brought insurance into limelight which includes presiding over the practical completion of an ultra- modern 7 floor NIA edifice within record time without external funding.
She also chairs the Board of College of Insurance and Financial Management andcurrently the Deputy President Of Chartered Insurance Institute Of Nigeria.
A University of Lagos graduate of Actuarial Science (1984), Associate Chartered Insurance Institute, London, Fellow Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and alumnus of the Advance Management Program of the prestigious Lagos Business School.
Mr. Lanre Ojuola
Lanre Ojuola is the Director of Operations at the Nigerian Insurers Association. Mr. Ojuola has worked for over two decades both in the banking and insurance sectors of the Nigerian economy. He was at various times with; Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc, Equitorial Trust Bank Limited [now Sterling Bank Plc.] and Universal Trust Bank Plc. [now Union Bank Plc.] His experience over the years has exposed him to various facets of insurance management, business development, marketing, strategy formulation and execution, banking operations, audit, and risk management.
Lanre Ojuola holds a Bachelor’s degree in insurance and master’s degree in business administration from the University of Lagos. He is also an Associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria. Lanre is also an alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School having passed through the Advanced Management Program [AMP 27] of the Institution.
As a consultant, he is passionately committed to providing support and mentorship to gear the needed growth in the Nigeria insurance industry. Lanre is also a public speaker and has facilitated several strategy sessions, training workshops and seminars in Nigeria and West Africa.
Mr. Soji Oni
Soji Oni is a graduate of Insurance and holds Masters Degree in Business Administration from University of Lagos. He is an Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, a Fellow of the Fire Protection Association of Nigeria (FPAN), a Certified ISO 31000 Risk Management Professional (C31000) and a Registered Member of Global Institute for Risk Management Standards and the Institute of Business Strategy (IBS).
Soji Oni began his career in the insurance industry as an Underwriting Clerk with Lombard Insurance Company Limited in June, 1993 and has was able to advance his Insurance career with other top Insurance Companies like, Unitrust Insurance Company Ltd., Leadway Assurance Company Limited and is currently working with Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) as the Head Technical.
He served as the past Chairman of the Fire Offices Committee (FOC) of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) for many years from 2011 to 2018 and a member of both NIA Advisory Technical Committee and Pricing Committee.
He was a member of the Planning Committee and also served as Facilitators at the 2017 Lagos State Fire Conference, 2017 International Fire Conference & Exhibition (IFCE) organized by the Senate and House of Representatives Joint Committee on Interior of the National Assembly and 2018 Lagos State Vision Zero Conference.
He represents the Insurance Industry in collaboration/ partnership projects with various Agencies of Government in Nigeria both at the state and Federal levels.
Mrs. Bosede Agbogun:
Agbogun Bosede Rachael is a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) where she obtained a degree in Sociology and Anthropology. She is an Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria.
She has Masters of Science in Management from Lagos State University (LASU) She is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist. She is in charge of Life and Compliance matters of the Association
Mr. Wasiu Adedokun
Adedokun Wasiu is the Chief Finance Officer at Nigerian Insurers Association. Prior to joining the Association, Wasiu was the Senior Accountant at Coastrade Logistics Limited. Company Accountant at Biocolous Limited.
He had BSc in Accounting from Lagos State University. Wasiu is an Associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Associate member, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), and has a Diploma in International Financial Reporting, ACCA.
Wasiu is vast in Financial Reporting and Tax Matters.
